Highkey it makes me so mad when people mischaracterize Yesod like every fic I read always makes him some emotionally stunted pathetic creature that always hides his emotions and crashes out when someone knows how he feels and like. No??? Not true???

I can see it especially pre-lobcorp and to some extent pre-ruina but in the library his in game dialogue very clearly indicates otherwise to me, and a lot of the setting where I see this mischaracterization is in content set post-ruina. Granted, I still haven't finished the story but from all his floor dialogue I've read I don't really understand.

He very obviously has a strong sense of justice and morality, which he doesn't shy away from revealing to Roland.

^story 3 (ruina)

His behavior towards Roland specifically tends to be more cold solely due to his anger at Angela at the end of Lobotomy corp, not because he's directly trying to suppress his emotions this time.

^story 4 (ruina)

Contrast this with his dialogue in Lobotomy Corp:

^story 1 (lobcorp)

He immediately follows up his small outburst with an apology and goes back to his neutral, professional demeanor. Compared to Ruina, he definitely maintains more emotional distance.

But the biggest change comes just after his core supression:

^story 6 (lobcorp)

He learns how to let himself feel, no longer willing to keep his despair inside him.

Evidently, he also carries this to the end of the story with him:

From what I've read so far, this is chronologically the first time he actually says out loud an emotion that he's feeling, and most of his Ruina dialogue is also similar to this from the examples above.

I don't know, it's just weird to me that so many people seem to misunderstand his character when one his the arcs that resonated the most with me is how he grows when it comes to his emotional regulation. He learns how much it can hurt him to keep all his emotions in and seems to make a bigger effort to make them more clear.
