Davey wasn’t allowed to attend the Yule Ball. He was forbidden to attend because of a joke that went horribly wrong and instead spent the night writing lines about the proper dress code for fancy parties. It was boring. He hated every second of it. But of course, he had heard some time before the ball that Gilderoy had managed to ask Lily Evans and got a yes out of her, which blew Davey away and he’s been thinking about it for weeks. “Hey, hey, Lockhart! Wait up,” as soon as he saw the other man in question, Davey ran right up to him, smiling brightly. “Heard you got Evans to say yes to the ball, how did that go? I didn’t attend, you know, McGonagall had me in her office all night writing lines. All because I joked about going naked, could you believe it? Anyway, did you and Evans have fun?
