“Good luck taking me home,” Moody replied drowsily, with a low chuckle that rumbled through his chest and stomach where Alice was sprawled. It had been a long night, and, as soon as they had finished throwing their latest disturber of the peace into the cells, they had collapsed onto the couch in his office, bruised, battered, and exhausted. The office had been practically empty when they walked through it, which was one of the reasons he hadn’t protested when Alice had lain across him rather than stay on her side of the couch.

“Alice is a mystical, unearthly creature proven to exist in the flesh—like a faerie or goddess—with a contagious personality that will leave you feeling alive and electrified.”

“I would never dare change anything about my bumbling blonde beauty. She knows all of my secrets and I would genuinely tremble if I were ever on her bad side. She gives me a run for my money in the department of kicking ass, but it’s always friendly sport.”

“Alice has always been full of so much life and cheer, and even after all that has happened and probably will inevitably continue to happen, she is still the ultimate testament to living. I cannot imagine a world without her and what’s devastating is we all almost had to, but Alice shows us that getting a second chance is the most sacred of all, when hell—how the fuck did any of us even get handed a first? It’s her adamant ferocity and purpose to punish the deserving, but also her unaltered capacity to keep on loving despite everything.”

Her age, I would have loved to have grown up with Alice. It would have been lovely to attend the same classes, discuss the different properties of potions over Butterbeer, and sneak away to the kitchens for a late night snack post party (one of the many unsolicited teenage rebellion gatherings).

Pretty Toys, Ugly Cages || Alecto & Alice

Alecto practically skipped into the room, waving at the person leaving, barely registering who it was. Slowing her pace, she slid her way across the floor, her boot’s heels tapping as she walked. The redhead had taken care to not wear a dress that she minded getting a little messy. She had grown bored and had the perfect plaything at her disposal.

Stopping in front of the blonde woman, Alecto bent down and slid a finger under her chin. “Come along now, time to wake up,” her voice was sweet but her eyes were snapping with a viciously cold temper. She let her nail dig, her annoyance and anger with the Longbottoms ever present these days since discovering their betrayal.

“Are you ready to play little Alice?” A lovely, tinkling laugh slipped from between Alecto’s lips, the sounds so at odds with the devastation she was so fond of.

Food & Literature || Remus & Alice

DATE: June 9, 1978 LOCATION: Longbottom House INSPIRATION: Mr. Brightside- The Killers

There comes a time in every young man’s life when he must succumb to his personal desires rather than worry about the impending doom of the present. Eight days passed since the attack on Hogwarts and Remus was four days out of the hospital. Time passed slowly and quickly all at once, but on the forth day of his freedom, he could ignore his desires no longer. 

With a stack of menus in one hand and his favorite book in another, Remus disapparated to the doorsteps of the Longbottom’s humble home. Three raps on the door and a smile on his lips, Remus waited for Alice’s beautiful face to appear between the open crack in the door.

“S’me. Got a few little gifts for you, if you’re not busy,” Remus smirked, holding up the menus on display. “Figured we could eat and drink our way through the day. Reckon you need it.” Being an Auror now of all times must be the most terrifyingly draining thing in the whole world. He knew how frustrating and difficult it must be to want to change the world, to want to make things safer and better, but knowing how impossible such a feat probably was. “You up for the challenge?”
