so our computer got the locky virus............ and i think i got rid of the virus itself but since files got fucked up and i couldn’t decrypt them i lost all of them i had on the computer. and since the computer is not only mine, my sister also lost everything...... i don’t even want to think about when i’ll tell her when she gets home i wanna cry rip me
ANYWAY, with the little research i did i’ve found that you get the virus thru an email with an encrypted file that asks you to decrypt it or something. but i think it changed a little bc the email, who was sent to my mom, as a sender had her own email address, was blank, with only a file attached that when opened never even actually opened. so yeah my mom thought it was an email from the hospital (like how even ?? rip) but yeah she opened it and so!

i had to delete all my encrypted files and im now in the process of downloading all my music again, it will probably take me days. luckily tho the virus didn’t do anything to my videos, or video games, and thank god honestly bc i think i would have cried and then also killed by my sister
