☾, ♧ , ☮ and ☆.
speak your language day asks! - language used 華語 (Chinese - Traditional)
I’ll be leaving the Chinese words unstyled as it’s as hard as it is already to read on normal font.
☾ : favourite word from your language
親愛 (qīn ài)
Or in others words, dear. Written this way in Cantonese and practically on Chinese everywhere except China, Malaysia and Singapore (meaning Taiwan, Japan, Korea, everywhere else).
Simplified Chinese are only widely used and taught in China and South East Asia, but is steadily replacing Traditional Chinese since the 1950s. But in Malaysia and Singapore, newspapers are sold in both Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese (in which how I managed to learn both).
Japanese used a mix between these two in their Kanji while Korean (hanja) and Vietnamese (Hán tự or chữ Nôm) replaced it with other scripts (hangeul and chữ Quốc ngữ) but still uses it once in a while in history or to clear up ambiguity and still taught in school in Korea.
♧ : favourite word from the english language translated in your language
Prosperity - 幸福 (xìng fú)
☮ : translate the first lines of your favourite song in your language
Meghan Trainor - Dear Future Husband
Dear future husband,Here’s a few thingsYou’ll need to know if you wanna beMy one and only all my life.
親愛的未來老公,這裡有幾件事情你需要知道,如果我想要你成為我生活中唯一的人。
☆ : give the first lines of a song which is originally in your language
Mmm… this one will be hard. I don’t listen to much Chinese songs, most of the songs I know that are Chinese are Cantonese drama themes… so that will do? I can’t give the first lines either since it’s chorus is more popular and more fresh in my mind ahahaha.
If you watch TVB often, then it’s from this show called ‘When Heaven Burns’. Link to it if you wanna listen. It’s in Cantonese and honestly I like it more than Mandarin.
