I've been reading "The New Kings of Nonfiction", a collection of essays edited by Ira Glass. All of the essays are excellent but so far, this one has resonated the most with me.
This article was written by Malcolm Gladwell and published by The New Yorker in 1999. It's an exploration of networking and how our social networks impact our lives and the opportunities that are presented to us.
He takes an anecdote about Lois Weisberg, a woman who seems to "know everyone", and turns it into commentary about opportunity and social class.
Lengthy, but wonderfully written.
