It had started here and there. An outbreak. Someone had gotten the infection, passed it to a few people before they were dealt with by the government. Then they started popping up in other places. The one in Russia was sorted out by the elements. It wasn't prepared for the harsh winter there. It got mummified in Egypt. By then people got more worried. Australia and New Zealand shut down their borders. Followed quickly by most of Europe. It was China that finally broke the defence. So many people. So densely packed in. It spread like wild fire. Countries around them tried to close boarders, the healthy tried to get out. Japan was offline within 3 weeks of it arriving. It was adapting and quickly. All boarders shut down after that. Any planes that had been in the air crashed when they ran out of fuel. People fled from major cities. States closed boarders, screening for potential infection. It was hard to get fresh food across boarders. People started to starve, they fought for food for space. Some people worked together to survive. Loki had fled the city with the first break out. He knew something was going to happen. It was just a matter of time. The infection was smart and was going to adapt. He waited. He waited and he was right. He had bought an old silo that was underground. Spent the time refitting it himself. It was 100% off the grid. 100% self sufficient. He had filled it and was prepared when an infection broke out in New York City. Scientists were taken to the safe haven in the northern most parts of Russia and to the Antarctic circle. They were the protected species now. They were the only hope. Loki checked the internet. He was part of an outbreak network. San Francisco was gone now. East and west coast was affected. He stood, going to check the hydroponics down bellow. @darkly-stark
