Patience and Jesus

I think this week so far, even though it has been stressful, is a blessing.

I feel like I've always had this concept of patience being something like mana in a video game (I know...nerdy)...where you can increase it and have lots of it but in the end, when you need that critical last hit or spell, it can run out. When you run out of mana in a video game, you basically die if you can't defend yourself from monsters. Similar to this, when you run out of patience, well....you sort of stop loving. As Christians, we are called to love our brothers and sisters (as well as people different than us) as ourselves (Matthew 22:36-40) and if we can't love...well we might be better off dead.

I feel like patience as something that can run out is a misconception because true, loving patience should never really run out. It's sort of like Jesus's love for us; if he was as patient as mana in a video game, we wouldn't really have things like grace or forgiveness LOL

So I guess I can say that I've learned something this week; true loving patience is the embodiment of Christ and that is what the Holy Spirit is striving me towards day in and day out.
