setting: skateland disco night, late evening
Skateland used to be a regular place for Rowan — when she and Harper were kids her mom used to bring them there every Thursday night for cheap night, and in hear early twenties she used to drag Andy there for date nights on a regular basis but it’s been ages since she’d been inside it now. Between how crazy things in town had been in general and the fact that she’s got four kids to try and keep track of, it just hadn’t been on her radar. But she’s glad that she’d seen the flyer for tonight and decided to come out — it’s been a fun break from everything, exactly what she’d needed. She’d spent a good amount of time out on the roller rink but by now, her feet are aching and begging her to take a break. So that was how she found herself sitting at the bar, waiting for a Diet Coke — her solidarity sobriety making all of the drunk idiots around her all that much more amusing. However, a second later the bar tender is shoving a shot in her direction before pointing to an older man on the other end of the bar who shoots her a wave and a wink that she can’t help but laugh at. “Courtesy of the old guy with the Santa beard down there. I think he’s tryin’ to get lucky tonight,” she snorts, nodding towards the man in question before shoving the drink into a random person’s hands. “He’s all yours, though.”
