London Time

Early this year in May, I went to London for the first time. I’ve always wanted to go to London, as most of the greatest drama schools in the world are in London. The main reason we went there was because my dad had tickets to a Liverpool game at the time, so he really wanted me and my sister to be there to watch the game with him. That’s a separate piece I’ll write about later. For the rest of the time, we did things that tourists do. Explore! And shop.

London was of course, pretty gloomy. But I always loved the cold weather. Everything I could ask for was there, in terms of education and job opportunities of my interest. Besides that, all the makeup I wanted was there. London doesn’t have Sephora which, wtf.

We travelled to Bicester Village, which I understand is what JPO is trying to be in terms of the idea of it. Lots of high market brands, sold for cheaper prices. It was fabulous. I don’t have a lot of pictures of the place, but check out this food truck I came across there.

Now to the part I love about the UK. The THEATRE and the THEATRE COMMUNITY. Wow, it was really amazing. The amount of appreciation for theatre they have there is overwhelming for me, cuz I’m used to having friends and family appreciate and a couple of theatre lovers come watch me perform. But to see large theatre houses in every street in London have shows that sell out every night was just amazing. To be able to perform for crowds like that who really appreciate it.

Which brings me to THE BOOK OF MORMON in London. It was so fucking funny and the actors were so goooood. Haih. Sorry I’m just dreaming of the day that I will get to be on a stage like that. But for now, I’ll appreciate theatre to the MAX.

I had the opportunity to visit my dream performing arts academy. The Royal Academy of Performing Arts. I got to ask about the audition process for the Acting degree course. I really felt like a little amateur, more like a mouse seeing these student actors walk in and out of the building. One day, that will (hopefully) be me walking through those doors. Time can only tell what I’m destined for.
