Different Shades of White (A Re-examining of Conjury)

It had been a long while since Y'shtola had truly reflected on magicks - in particular, it had been some time since she had since looked back on conjury. Though she considered herself nowhere close to white mages and great conjurers of eld, a scholar such as her often considered herself worth her own salt enough to never even consider returning to basic forms. As turbulence seemed ready to arise at any moment however, the thought had occurred to her to revisit such basics whilst she had the opportunity to do so.
The question, then, lay in whence she would receive such tutelage. For while she could without much effort study on her own, as she usually did, there was appeal and much benefit in learning with a fellow conjurer or one more experienced in teaching the art. For one, the viewpoints of another could greatly expand her own knowledge of white magicks, as well as point out flaws in her own practices.
There was very little chance - if any at all, as giving any onze of possibility would be fairly generous - that she could enlist the assistance of her native Sharlayan. Considering the perilous state that the home of the Students of Baldesion so far seemed to be in (for vanishing into naught but thin air was no happy instance), that was not an avenue in which she could venture either.
It was Gridania then that she quickly came to settle on - namely the Conjurer's Guild in the forest city-state. Courteous by fault, she had sent a short missive stating her intentions and a polite request for tutelage under the guild's current master.
She arrived by way of a Teleport spell and made her way to the Stillglade Fane. Ears swiveled slowly, raising up as if listening to the soft whispers of the fickle spirits that dwelled and lingered in the very air and walls of the Fane, and for a moment her eyes slipped closed as she walked deeper into the earth nestled home of the guild, 'til she reached its heart and likewise, its master.
