Long shadow design - a new trend?
Here is a good article about "Long shadow design". Flat design is so old already ;) http://je.roon.io/long-shadow-design Here you got a "Long shadow Generator": http://sandbox.juan-i.com/longshadows/
Allrose skate shop in red deer alberta, just playing around and inlove with long shadows :)
I look at examples of "long shadow design" and can't help but feel like this stuff is already old and tired. Already! Who knows -- I'm no designer. Then again, I've worked with good and bad designers throughout my working life. I can't design at a professional level, but I recognize what does and doesn't work, generally. Good designers get it wrong as much as bad designers get it right -- about one-third of the time, roughly. Why both kinds remain employed or contracted is that they recognize issues and deficiencies, on their own (generally after some time has passed) or through considered feedback from peers and partners. Anyway, whether they're good or bad, designers inflicting long shadows on iconography are not getting it right.
"Let’s face it guys, flat design has gone mainstream. Allow us to introduce the next design trend: Long Shadow Design. As you might be able to imagine, this trend includes objects with disproportionately long shadows, and for some reason it looks great".
Interesting article about 'long shadow design', the next big thing? :)
