I love this idea, I'd love to see Alcina singing again. I think this would encourage her to do it especially with the girls joining in!

I'm sure she misses singing with her jazz band and it would be great to see her sing again 🥺 I saw some incredible art about her missing her band and wanting to sing then maiden catches her singing along it's so cute ❤️🎤 🎙

im back with one more lone one, and to be honest. not gonna lie, but the handling of those allegations by the vinny and the vinesauce community actually took away my enjoyment of watching him. 

maybe because he hasn’t played anything im interested in (corruptions, games i like or curious abt, etc.) or actually streamed live but i just can’t enjoy his content anymore with a good conscience knowing what he may have done. i don’t wanna watch someone who’s done something shitty. like i used to call for neutrality to wait for an apology from him for his actions or confirmation or whatever but neither of those really came. he does has a right to stay silent about it, but i have a right to dislike his silence about this. i feel like he hasn’t been clear with us. it was as simple as “no i didn't do it, it’s fake and I can prove it” or “yes, I did it and i’m sorry” 

not to speculate myself but i think he was like “yeah i did that aw man i gotta get my life together (and he is to his credit)” and waited for dust to settle to make content again. he just put out a neutral-ass statement and took a break b4 coming back, perhaps getting a lawyer or something. no actual apology (unless he apologized to those ppl, but i think we need a public one) or confirmation bc still NO ONE but him and the accusers know the truth. But the way he didn’t say “oh that shit’s false let me prove it” makes it true to me, along with some pretty real and damning external evidence i’ve seen. I ACTUALLY JUST FOUND A VIDEO THATS RLY GOOD AT EXPLAINING THE SITUATION HERE!  It’s 33 minutes but it puts together neatly what i’ve been trying to say, plus some stuff i haven’t mentioned!

(Let me also state quickly that the ppl in the document all consented. i don’t think that him having sex is the problem, but its weird af to randomly message or ask ur female fans for nudes or sex, using social influence/status to sleep with ppl. Also, I don’t wanna say i know the exact truth, but I do believe the women who spoke up.)

i can’t bring myself to have a favorable image of him anymore. the community especially! some ppl were absolutely disgusting, sending death threats???!? i really can’t look at the community and think it’s all chill and wholesome anymore if they rally THAT hard for a man you don’t even know personally, if they’re accused of shitty behavior. the “evidence” against the accusers is reaching super hard, and some just flat out lied to “save” vinny.  like “if you look/listen close enough, it’s fake!” i honestly think they were just coping or trolling at this point. parasocial relationships, man.

Why did your dash give you anxiety?

I have anxiety to begin with and tumblr is mostly a place where my anxiety is eased. Sometimes, though, when Taylor is actively online, everyone gets excited and is posting so much and so often that it can be extremely overwhelming for me. I think it was bad today especially because it had been quiet online pretty much all day, then she was on (and I love her being on! this isn’t taking away from that at all!) and it seemed like my dash was moving a million miles an hour and it’s hard for me to breathe, almost. The main reason it makes me anxious is because I start to think about how it must feel being Taylor in that chaos. I’m an empathetic person and that often ties into my anxiety because I am anxious on behalf of other people. I was afraid of how anxious or overwhelmed Taylor might have been feeling and it just fueled my own anxiety fire. Just thinking about this always makes me even more grateful that she puts herself out here to hang out with us. And only solidifies the fact that I am here for her no matter what she needs. Like if she’s ever anxious she could message me like i do for her, ya know. Anyway, this was long but that’s how it was feeling for me earlier.

Honestly all these passionate cries of "we know you'd never do this ever!! This is all blatantly false and absurd! You're way too nice to do this!!" are probably making Vinny feel even worse because it's extremely likely that the allegations are true. So he now has to watch his obsessive fans defend his honor over shit he most likely did. And what is he supposed to do now? He can't admit to them out of fear his fans will turn on him and if he completely denies everything, he's probably lying. His best choice right now is to admit that he did have sex with these people and ghosted them etc. but that its his private life and that nobody had any business putting this on the internet anyway. But how do you explain this to a fanbase of people who adore you for being so soft and pure and seemingly uninterested in any type of vice?

Really great point to bring up. If the allegations are true, I cannot imagine how he might feel with the community raising him even higher on that pedestal, and how the ppl who spoke out might feel. He clearly doesn’t seem to be doing well mentally atm, and this could potentially be making it so much worse, no matter what. That’s why I really think the community should’ve stayed neutral before concrete evidence of innocence or guilt was released. We actually have nothing about that yet. Either way, always be critical about the things or people you like, especially if they do something kinda shitty.

Hopefully he apologizes, and the community will wake up to the fact that their precious babby gaem streamer isn’t the pure, non-sexual person they fantasized about being friends with and projected themselves onto. People we like online are always capable of being assholes or doing unsavory things in the shadows. I really do want him to apologize if the post is true, but it’ll be bittersweet. He’d be essentially giving up some of his privacy he’s carefully maintained for years, especially because it’d be his SEX LIFE that the public now definitely knows details of.

 If he doesn’t apologize or if the allegations are false, I fear that they will raise him higher on that pedestal to the point of being ‘unproblematic’ and ‘untouchable’, which would go ever further against his wishes. I feel like the chat before the allegations were all like “it’s ok Vinny no one is perfect! everyone has flaws!”, but at the same time are holding him up to a standard of innocence and perfection in his own god damn private life.

Its interesting (and unnerving) to see the various reactions from this community and its also interesting how a lot of people are slowly accepting that their soft jabroni cinnamon roll has a private life which may not align with the fantasies they have of him. I don't think the allegations include anything unforgivable but I hope this is a wake up call to the community to not put him on this pedestal of moral and sexual purity. There's people on here in genuine mental distress over this and it's scary

I found it super unnerving as well, and it even made me question if I wanted to consider myself a part of the community with those hostile kind of people.

I don’t think ppl understand how unhealthy it is to depend solely on a complete stranger with a big audience to bring them nothing but happiness. As well as to be absolutely perfect, while simultaneously being imperfect so that they can still feel a connection and relate.

as much as i see so many ppl saying he is totally innocent, i’m so glad that there r ppl here that are open to being critical. not a “completely cancelable” offense if true, but still messed up.

if it ends up false i’ll obv be super relieved cuz i love his streams but we won’t know that until it’s explained by him himself (i honestly kind of doubt he will, probably’ll sweep it under the rug or something, too touchy).

if it’s true i want to know if he apologizes to the victims or he apologizes and admit his mistakes publicly in a statement or something (which i also kind of doubt he’ll do, too private, sweep it) or i don’t think i’d be able to enjoy his streams as much anymore when he comes back :\

hey, I just wanted to comment on your Vinesauce post. I pretty much agree 100%, and you touch on aspects that I never really got around to when I made my own comments. Like, I've been watching Vinesauce since I was like 16. Dude is my favorite streamer, I like the content and I like that he doesn't do facecam - I simply don't watch other streamers, the Vinesauce crowd are my go-to content creators streaming-wise. There's a lot of love there.

I also agree that while the crux of the allegations might not be the most heinous, it's not a great look, and that we should be approaching this situation from a critical perspective. Personally, I think that we should be considering the possibility that aspects of the allegations are legitimate, and that some of them might not be. It shouldn't be all or nothing.

My argument came down to my values, whereas I think you tackled it in a more emotionally resonant way. Good post, OP.

Thank you! I stumbled upon your arguments as well, and I totally agree with them. They’re really well put. I personally found it difficult and super uncomfortable to listen to the audio recordings.

While I did find the community’s initial reactions disheartening, we’ve all come to realize again that Vinny is indeed an adult, and he can contact consenting fans for sex if he so pleases (which I think is an asshole thing to do).

I personally believe the allegations are true, and not only the allegations from the doc. If this all happens to actually be true, I just think an apology from him is in order, no matter how many ppl think he won’t need to. This isn’t a world-ending case.

I hope that now that he’s taking an extended break, some fans can take a step back and realize how heavily and unhealthily they depend on him for mental stability, and how much they may project.
