Wut you’re not even that tall?! Wear that shit! PASTELS <3
My mom thinks those clothes are only for people shorter than I am, so. :') I'd love to buy and wear them, but maybe they won't look that good on me...

UuuuuuuGGHH… there are plenty of writers who write for games and don’t play them. I guess it becomes an issue for some people when it’s a woman :/ *tears hair out*
Oh, it's most certainly an issue based very deeply in gamers' inherent misgivings and fear towards women. We also still have a lot of huge issues with being inclusive towards, well, non-gamers, regardless of gender, sex, or race, so compacting that with the baffling heat women get on an overly frequent basis? Hepler's case isn't surprising by any stretch to anyone who has stepped out of their own social bubble.
We see collaborators who aren't explicitly gamers pretty often, like Inon Zur and Harry Gregson-Williams, like David Goyer and James Gunn. Perhaps the mistake is that they don't dare talk to the gaming community about their level of experience with games. Maybe Hepler's appreciated candidness is what set it off. Yet, considering we're still fighting something SO ABSOLUTELY INFURIATING as the concept of "Fake Geek Girls," there's no way there isn't a lot of extra fuel to the fire.
For me, I'm more mad now that I have no shock left. I finally hit that point. And it really freakin' sucks.
