After slowing his breathing with deep inhales and exhales,the boy maintained it, quickly lifting his baby blues to oceanones, eyes lidded and low from exhaustion with bags underneath.

“Y-Yeah–” He croaked, mentally wincing at how weak his voice sounded. 

“Tea, please…”

3. Nose Kiss

A day out with Maggie at the park was a good idea. The mall would have made him a little upset with the wide range of Christmas and Holiday decor everywhere, so walking through the snow, Lilith bundled up and being carried by her father while the two gushed over her cuteness, was a great way to lift the teen’s mood.

It wasn’t until Maggie brought up asking what Danny thought of her getting Vlad something Packers-related for Christmas, did the boy start to withdraw from her, trying to hide his frown and failing miserably. When asked what was wrong, he confessed he felt like he was drifting apart from the man again, how every recent conversation between them was short-lived before Vlad either took a phone call, was late for a meeting, or had to care for Amelia. 

And who knows what else? He had thought silently. Maybe it was just him. Maybe Vlad was avoiding him on purpose… Who could know?

Maggie did her best to listen to him pouring some, if not quite all, of his troubles on Vlad out, and nodded softly. She promised him that she’d love him unconditionally, told him he was a great kid and a great dad, giving him a small and loving smile. She even told him she was proud of him! It made his eyes glow and his cheeks turn a light pink, a tiny smile blooming on his lips.

She tried to reassure him that it wasn’t him at all, that Vlad just had gotten quite busy and that for sure he’d be closer to Danny once Christmas actually hit.

Danny still didn’t feel assured, but nodded anyway, simply thankful that the woman could at least hear him out and be there for him. She moved to peck the tip of his nose with a light kiss and promised everything would turn out just fine. The two soon went back to cooing back to the baby in the boy’s arms, laughing a little at her funny noises in return to their grown-up sounds.
