"After-effects" by Belphagor - Yesterday I recommended a fic from Raph's POV set between seasons 2 and 3 of the 2012 show. Today I have one in the same setting about Mikey. This story is told in Mikey's voice, and Belphagor does an excellent job at capturing it, often going off on tangents as one would expect Mikey to do. But it never gets confusing, and it all leads somewhere. Those that enjoy Leo and Mikey interaction will especially like this, but all the brothers play their part in the story at some point. It's a bit sad, but very sweet.

"Strawberries" by LordSameth - Wish there was more Raph and April interaction in the 2012 show but don't like Raphril? This one shot is for you! A fun action story focusing on the two with a little Spike thrown in for good measure. Raph is handled perfectly here, and it's written in a way that you could see a scenerio playing out like this in the show itself. Give it a shot if you're looking for a little action and friendship!

"Freedom? Freedom" and "Recovering” by mandaree1 - I'll start off by warning that the first part is rated M and fairly depressing, but the second part, on the other hand, while still not exactly uplifting, ends on an optimistic note and is very satisfying. "Freedom? Freedom" follows a captive turtle as he struggles to maintain as much of his mind as he can while "Recovering" showcases another turtle doing his best to bring his brother's mind back to go with his rescued body. While the first part is extremely well written and right up my alley, the second part is where this story really shines, and is totally worth the read. You can even read the second half without the first, if you want, as there is a brief summary to start off "Recovering". Either way, you should definitely check it out!

Daily Fandom Highlight - Card Captor Sakura:

"One Week" by parma-violets - I don't have many OTPs, but Sakura and Syaoran from Card Captor Sakura probably top the short list. They are just so gosh darn adorable! This story is also cute, but unfortunately the premise is a sad one. It takes place after the second movie, except the difference is that in this version, The Void took Sakura's love for Syaoran. Time has passed, but Syaoran is back in Japan on business, and he has one week to enjoy Sakura's company, even if she doesn't remember him and he knows it's going to hurt. It's bittersweet, but Sakura is cheerful as always, and like Syaoran says at the end of the movie, "I'll just fall in love with you again." One of, if not my top favorite romance stories.

Your prof is wrong. You did the best you could with the shitty situation. You cannot expect yourself to be 100% after what happened. You did VERY well and you deserve praise. Yes, next year you can do better, but you did your best THIS year.

I appreciate what you’re saying. And given the circumstances I did do exceptionally well. But could I have done better? Yes. If I’d been on top of my time management from the beginning I could have done much better. The only reason I ended up doing as well as I did was because I really buckled down at the end (and got an extension for a paper). If I had forced myself into better studying habits sooner I would have been better off. Even though I did well I didn’t do my best.

Please don’t misunderstand though. Given my circumstances and how I handled them I am exceptionally proud of myself for achieving what I did. I know a lot of people struggle to maintain an A average at the best of times. The fact that I did it despite suffering two losses in such a short time span is really quite remarkable.

I’m taking his words less as a criticism and more as a critique. I’m going to try and use this to motivate myself to do even better next year. Frankly it’s flattering that my professor thinks I can do better than an A+ or, more generally, an A average.
