#losing creativity

I don’t know if I’m gonna draw soon…

Hello, my fellow witches and wizards! How are we doing today? I’m actually doing well. Anyway, I really want to draw soon, but I’m not sure if I’ll do something different. I’ve been losing the drive to draw for a little while, which is “fantastic!” (Just kidding, it’s miserable.)

I can’t figure out why it’s happening, but I think it’s because my mind is constantly preoccupied with other things, which isn’t good. I really want to draw something so badly.

I honestly just want to go into my bin and pull out some of my old drawings to redesign and see how much I’ve improved. And honestly, I have improved a ton, which is great. I’ve been drawing for 18 years now, still sketching traditionally, but I really want to start drawing more. I just can’t seem to get myself to do it anymore. I think I even posted about this a while back.

Oh, and another thing is that all of my old drawings are not a Hogwarts Legacy related.

Growing Older

It is the occupation of trying to make life secure where one loses their creativity.

It is the daily efforts of making a dollar when one loses their creativity.

The ability to quickly vacillate between responsibilities and creativity weakens without use. This is further hastened by stresses at work. One can figure, easy day job, less stress, but that would entail poor performance at the day job and lack of security. Trade security for creativity.

I've discovered in getting older and having responsibilities and stress suck the life out of creativity.

Because it's been years now, and I fear I have lost it. It's a ghost that's there, that I feel is within my grasp, but I can't find the power to grasp it. Have I become so consumed by this "adulting" that I've lost that creative spark. I know I had it, it's still there, I just cannot go back to that place of creative freedom and just do it.

In growing up and dealing with realities, it's suppressed my imagination. It is as I've feared, something my father's told me many times in my youth: don't ever stop your art, or else you will lose it. Like he did.
