I just had to do the prompt of Stephen as the King of Lost-Hope because he’s amazing. I like to imagine him as growing into a confident and shrewd ruler in Faerie, long may he reign!

JSaMN Sketches: The Gentleman With the Thistle-down Hair

A small sketch! I’m working on a bigger picture with this fairy fellow and I tried to visualise him for the first time.One of my absolute fave book villains to be perfectly honest: everything about him has this dry, absurd, very dark humour. Also, he is perfectly written as a fey creature, a real blend of traditional folklore elements, all those different flavours of weird and wonderful and eerie and downright creepy dangerous.

So up until tonight @childermassacre and I were both dead convinced that Hope-restored was the canonical name for Lost-hope after Stephen became king of it.

Turns out there’s no mention of Hope-restored in the books and we accidentally stole the name from fanfic

Presenting a new music video for "Infernal Soiree," our song inspired by Susanna Clarke's spectacular fantasy novel Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell (with footage borrowed from the excellent BBC miniseries adaptation). Poor Stephen Black. Poor Lady Pole. We feel their ceaseless torment in our very souls.
