91 July 21 - Chicago- Mooning the Audience in Lubbock
De: But I want to tell you, during the play I had a terrible thing happen. I was doing this scene, it was center stage and they had a stage that lifted up to the top story and the dressing rooms were on this top story. It was very clever. At the end of an act, they just went right up to the ceiling. And I was doing this particular scene where I was trying to make up with my wife. We were separated and she had agreed to let me stay overnight and sleep on the sofa and I was hurrying to get undressed. I had this western shirt on and I was able to just rip the shirt open. I got the shirt off and my pants off and so. I had a necklace that Carolyn had given me on our fifteenth wedding anniversary, a gold necklace. And as I was getting undressed, I ripped the shirt off and I ripped the necklace off and I saw the necklace fall at the feet of the customers there. And I was so upset I forgot and I pulled my underwear shorts down and I mooned the whole west side. I was so upset about that necklace. I thought I'd share that with you.
Audience member: Would you like to repeat the performance today?

Audience Member: Did you get it back?
De: Yeah, I got- what, my weight?
Audience Member: The necklace.
De: I got it back.
