we were scrambling hard to find a new spot. our first visitor, Olk, was heading up after work and we needed to tell him where we’d be parked. we really, really did not wanna have to drive to the mountain every day. for one, we didn’t have chains, and would likely be unable to drive legally on powder days. we were also finding out that starting a cold diesel bus at high elevation was a real bitch. unlike many other diesels, towanda can’t get help from ether, she’s got a grid heater on the intake. 

we barely got her started that day and miraculously scored an RV parking pass from a condo association right down the road. still walking distance to the lifts. as expected, they made sure to tell us that living in the vehicle was STRICTLY PROHIBITED. we’d need to keep it extra stealth. a real challenge with a smoking chimney
