One of the best fight sequences in MLC. It finally revealed to Fang Duobing that the seemingly invalid doctor, Li Lianhua, is really Li Xiangyi, the martial arts prodigy and the best fighter in the martial world. The man he credits as having inspired him to push himself and overcome his physical limitations to become the skilled young warrior he is now.

I love how Li Lianhua's lazy swagger changed into the confident and deadly gracefulness of Li Xiangyi. How his nonchalance turned to ruthlessness. It was wonderful and breathtaking to see how he's never forgotten any of the skills that had made him the most formidable warrior in the world.

It was especially moving to me when the scene showed Fang Duobing's shocked expression as he looked at Li Xiangyi's stance, the way it mirrored exactly the pose of his likeness in the painting at Fang Duobing's home. The proud lift of the head, the straight back, the way his arm held his sword. It was as if Fang Duobing couldn't believe how blinded he had been. How he never realized that the man whom he considered his master and model had been with him all this time.

MLC, to me, is the story of growth and awakening, of realizing that there is always more than meets the eye. And that sometimes, we can be so blinded by our preconceptions of the people around us that we fail to see their value and their true worth in our lives.

My Lotus Tower model kit arrived, and I am ridiculously excited! I haven’t started assembling it yet, but I wanted to share some of the other goodies that came with it!

First, adorable mini figures of the lotus trio!

It also includes a booklet that has the Yangzhouman instructions Li Lianhua left for Fang Duobing!

I’m also very intrigued by this letter that was included (in an envelope with Li Lianhua written on it), that seems to be about what happened to Li Lianhua and to maybe say something about his future? (My knowledge of Chinese characters is not nearly advanced enough for me to read this, and I have my doubts about how well Google Translate worked on the image.)

Here it is, in case anyone wants to translate it!

I’ll post images of the model itself once I start assembling it, but it needs to wait for another night when I have the energy to try to translate the instructions (at least there are images and not nearly as much text)!
