This was a great event. I feel very honored to have been a part of it, and to have had the opportunity to work with Maya Angelou's poetry up close. Regina Taylor was amazing at capturing the spirit of the words. I hope more people get to hear the work.

Excited to have a work premiered by the Cincinnati Symphony this coming weekend, which features the words of Maya Angelou, and celebrates the anniversaries of the signing of the 13th Amendment and the Voting Rights Act.

Cincinnati has a great-looking upcoming season. The orchestral new music is a bit tame, and Scheherazade.2 is my nomination for the worst title ever, but Langrée has initiated a new music series with younger composers. In addition, the "non" new music repertoire is great, varied and exciting.

The Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra will be holding a *FREE* preview concert THIS SATURDAY NIGHT, July 27, 2013 at 7:30pm with Louis Langrée conducting.
The program will be MOZART: Symphony No. 40 and BEETHOVEN: Symphony No. 7
Tickets will be distributed on Saturday, July 27 at 10 am at the Avery Fisher Hall Box Office. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are limited to two tickets per person. BE SURE TO GET ON LINE EARLY AS IT GETS VERY LONG!!!!
