It costs nothing to offer others Love, Light, and compassion as they maneuver the dimensions of their journey.
There are many things in this life that some people can’t afford. Thinking a new TV, shiny sleek ride or the most up-to-date phone on the market? Not quite.
Some people - people that you see every day - have the painful task of figuring out how to clothe & feed themselves and their family. Others don’t have the convenient luxury of a car to get to work, and many others can’t provide shelter between themselves & the elements. Beyond the material fundamentals, others battle unseen hardships like illness & addiction, and can’t find their way to freedom due to lack of financial feasibility.
We are all familiar with these economic distresses, and the serious implications they mean for our society. Yet still, we so often fall into the easy trap of “lack” – focusing on what we don’t have, (and often don’t need).
Remember the new TV, new car, new phone that you just saw in flashy ads? It’s effortless to think of all the things that would make life more enjoyable.
But what about the things that really do matter? To us & to our society. To our communities & to our world. When we stop to consider all that we really do have, the lack suddenly seems undeserving of our vast energies.
Instead of lack, if we put focus on compassion, generosity, altruism, kindness, a shift will begin to happen. As we become more aware of sharing Love, gentleness, mindfulness, our world changes before our eyes. And to the people we offer these simple graces to…what of them?
They begin to change too.
