i hope you all are doing okay. i hope good things are happening to you. i really do want the best for you. i hope you are getting enough rest, eating enough food, and drinking enough water. i hope you aren’t being hard on yourself and i hope other people aren’t either. i hope you know that you don’t have to have everything figured out and that you can take life moment by moment if you need to. i hope you know how loved you are, how important your presence is in this world, and how worthy you are of good things. i hope you’re being gentle with others and especially being gentle with yourself. i care about all of you! you can do this, i believe in you, and I’m so proud of you <3!

A thing I really liked in RiD15 is the relationship between the two human characters, Denny and Russell, father and son.

We get from bits of dialogue that Russell's parents are divorced and are having split custody over him, but with Denny seeing him far less than his mother does.

The only reason Russell is even with Denny in the show is because his mother is on a business trip in Kopenhagen.

And from the first episode we see that Russell is NOT excited to be on his father's Junkyard or spending any time with him. He's in a place he doesn't know, doesn't have any friends and is with his father on this boring ass junkyard he doesn't see as anything awesome + he thinks his father is embarassing.

Denny, on the other hand, is happy about spending time with his son and tries to make Russell happy, have a good relationship with him and be a good father. But we also see him being disheartened about it as he doubts that he can truly bond with Russell.

We see that he treats Russell as much younger kid than he actually is and has trouble relating to him.

He wants to make up for the time during Russell's childhood of which he was hardly a part of and is sad about the fact that Russell is becoming older and fears that he will have no important part in his own son's life.

Cue to the Bee team arriving-

One can assume that if the Bots hadn't arrived on Earth and stayed on the junkyard, Russell would have had a boring-ass summer and no good time with his well-meaning father at all.

But thanks to the Bots he has giant alien robot friends, a good time and lots of adventures! With the bots and with his dad!

One episode shows Russell collecting different stuff to remind him of his adventures, basically collecting his own little pile of useless junk that he associates with good memories - just like Denny does with his own junkyard!

And they bond over that :D ~

Denny gets to have quality time with his son who he doesn't see very often and Russell gets to understand his father more and more and see him less as a crazy dude (as he seemed to do at first) and develop a truly loving relationship with him.

And I dunno how other people felt about them, but to me it was more than just father-son bonding, it also felt like they were developing a good friendship as well.

It wasn't just about stuff like trusting your father to protect and provide to you and wanting to protect and provide, they got to share interests and bond over a hobby to collect stuff and became friends with a bunch of alien robots together.

And the whole theme of collecting things because they remind you of good memories is actually so sweet???

When Russell is an adult and Denny an old man, they still get to see and bond over the junk they kept close and think back to that time they had lots of adventures with a robots and re-live those memories over and over again, which are also the memories in which they bonded and started to have a loving relationship.

I dunno man, I just think it's sweet <3
