Ethical Dilemma
If Victor were to create a mate for the monster, then that could cause a few problems. Could the monster repopulate and create an army of monsters. Would those kids be as evil as the father or would they act differently? Victor also has treated the monster horribly and probably owes him something. Victor needs to give back to him to start making up all the wrongs he did against the monster. Victor also regrets creating the monster the entire book and now the monster is asking him to make another monster for him. If he were to create another monster for him, that would make him go against all of his morales. He had learned from his mistakes to not make another monster. Victor also knows he should make one, so the monster won’t be mad anymore. I believe Victor made the right choice by not making the monster a mate because number 1 goes against his morales. You should always stick with your morales and face the consequences rather than throwing your morales out and face the consequences. You won't have as much regret if you stick with your morals and what you know. Yes the monster would be mad after, but at least you don't have two lunatic killers running around europe. If there were two monsters running around then that would be on victor, so nobody would be at fault except for him. Secondly, you don’t know what the other monster would be like, or what their offspring would be like. He could have created a crazy killing family. The consequences would be unknown, so stick with what you know when you don’t know what is going to happen. Creating the monster would create more problems and more hate for him. He still treated the monster horribly, but making another would create possibly a worse situation for him.
