John Marston Headcanons! (Rdr2)

☆ Frequently read Arthur's journal as a kid. He never knew.

☆ Is actually scared of bodies of water. Partially because he can't swim, and partially because Arthur held him under the water when he was younger (though Arthur denies it when John brings it up. Typical older brother behaviour.)

☆ He would have terrible tattoos. I'm sorry. Like, he goes to shady places to get them done because they're cheaper, and he would absolutely have an 𝓐𝓵𝓹𝓱𝓪 tattoo, probably a wolf because of his scars.

☆Had the weirdest things happen to him during that year away from the gang. Like, if he told you, you'd think he was making it up.

☆On that note, Chelonians tried to recruit him at one point during that timeline. He was understandably confused.

☆Felt left out sometimes when it came to Dutch, Hosea, and Arthur spending time together, at least in the early chapters of the game when Dutch was 'semi-sane'' (I use that word loosely because I believe Dutch had lost it way before the events of the game). He wanted them to invite him fishing, hunting, etc., but never asked out of embarrassment and fear of rejection.

☆Found Jack's childishness irritating, which is why he avoided him before the incident with the Braithwaites :( .

☆Has no idea how to show affection to anyone.

☆Terrible hygiene. I mean look at him.

☆ Isn't very good at dealing with his emotions.

☆Makes his scar story seem way cooler than it actually was 😭

☆ Is scared of wolves because of what happened. Also, bigger dogs.
