❝ are you sure you’re alright? ❞ / from eileen
Henry blinked, his gaze shifted from the eerie corridor to Eileen's concerned face. He managed a faint nod, despite them both being stranded in what was considered unbelievable. ❝ Yeah, just... trying to make sense of all this, ❞ he admitted in spite of how uncertain his courage truly felt.
The walls' were littered with closed doors, unblinking eyes, pulsating noises and a preserving sensation of constantly being watched. He rubbed his temples, attempting to soothe the headache brought on by the ever-present buzzing sound slipping between the cracks on the walls. ❝ It's like being caught in a fever dream, ❞ he mused.
Eileen's presence provided a small comfort amidst the chaotic environment despite it all ❝ Why is this even happening to us? ❞ and no matter how selfish that might have sounded, Henry wished this could have happened to someone else.
❝ Sorry. . . I didn't ask, how are you feeling? ❞ A hand found its way to rest on her shoulder, it was gentle touch for most part, sincere and guided by genuine concern.
