"Say what Spike?" Buffy speaks through grit teeth, turning towards him, fists clenched. Buffy knows she looks like a mess. Bags under her eyes, hair unwashed and messy, clothes that were a tad too big for her frame. "What is it? What is there to say, huh? Oh everyone look at Buffy, she's such a freakshow, she can't even wash her own hair and looks like hell!" There's an edge to her voice, but also hidden underneath all that bite was some desperation. Everyone around her seemed to used to her having these periods where she just can't take care of herself. Why were they okay with it?

“so, what’s the catch?” (lance chernov @ buffy)

"The catch is I'm not a werewolf slayer," Buffy is practically huffing, crossing her arms. "And it's complicated with werewolves. They don't...I mean they can't control it. Usually. It's hard to, I knew a guy in high school and college...that doesn't matter. The catch is I don't think we should kill them."

It was a tricky subject. Demons, vampires, the like were different. Granted, lately, Buffy found herself questioning the concepts of 'innate evil', but right now it was 'kill what inhuman beings willfully wanted to kill her.'

"Which is stupid, I know, and subduing a werewolf is harder. But it's...it's the right thing to do." She kept the 'I think' to herself.

“ yeah i am a werecreature.” Randy -> Buffy @heardvoices

"Oh. Sorry, I hope I didn't offend you or anything," Buffy covers her mouth for a second. "I know it's not like, the easiest thing, but like, one of my friends was...is? A werewolf! So I promise I'm totally chill with it." She smiles at him, lowering her hand. "...Can I ask if you can control it, or is that too rude? I really don't mean to offend."

Buffy crosses her arms, shifting her weight to one leg. "I'm just saying, you're not nearly as scary as half the uglies I have to deal with." She tosses her hair over her shoulder. "I mean...compared to them, you're kinda like a big puppy? Maybe it's because you're not losing control enough. Not that I'm asking you to lose control."

She shifts her weight to her other leg. "I mean I'm not scared at all. But maybe I'm a little far from 'everyone'."

"Cousin?" Buffy tilts her head. "No, I didn't even know you had one. You just seemed a bit...lost? I guess? I don't know...you look how I feel sometimes when I need someone to come over and ask how I am. Even if I don't answer honestly."

Buffy offers a small smile and holds her hand out. "I'm Buffy. And uh, you shouldn't be walking around at night so late. It's kinda dangerous out, even if it's a nice night otherwise." From her perspective, this man was just a civilian, and she couldn't risk him getting hurt. At this point in her career she could care less if people learned about vampires and demons and the like. Most of them would just shrug it off or convince themselves otherwise.

"tell me something i don’t know." Nanno -> Buffy ; @kahrma

Crossing her arms, Buffy sighs. Dealing with vampires was hard, but never as hard as dealing with a teenager it seemed. When she had explained to the mysterious girl that she shouldn't be out in the graveyard at 2 AM, she got that response.

"Well then, why don't you head home? I can walk you there if you want." She looks around. No vampires around for now, but there was always the chance some might jump out. How was she gonna explain that?

“don’t do that.” - Aria -> Buffy ; @lightning-arias

Buffy pauses, her hand that was going to reach towards Aria stopping. Holding for a second, she puts her arm by her side, nodding. "Personal space. Got it." It was firm, but not rude. Buffy actually appreciated that. Someone straightforward for once, not dancing around what they wanted out of her. "It's just, it's nice to meet you and all that, y'know? I heard some good things but I get it. I get why you'd be a little apprehensive. I just..." Was it selfish? To want to get along right away. "...hope we can get on well, y'know?"

Somehow, some way, but not to her own surprise, Buffy had met a giant. There wasn't much known about them, at least from the literature she had, and given the lack of crushing her to death and gentleness expressed by Ingvar, they'd become something between acquaintences and friends. Admittedly for Buffy, he had become something of a respite, given that she wasn't daunted by his stature at all.

Still, in the middle of a discussion about her younger sister, it had been expressed that she simply didn't communicate enough. When Buffy responded with "Dawn simply isn't mature enough", she got that response.

Buffy bites her cheek, mostly to quell her intial reaction to get mouthy, before sighing. She looks up at him, both of them sitting in the serene forest where they'd meet. "I know she's...I mean, I want to protect her, from all the monsters and demons and vampires that want me dead. I think she's just been through moret han enough already, y'know?"
