"Hey... Let's be friends!" "Uh, do we have to?"
So yeah, things are over with Ada Loveteeth.
This is going to be one roller coaster of a post because I was hesitant to blog about her because I liked her so much. This is mostly going to be me convincing myself I didn't do anything wrong.
About to head off to see Ada Loveteeth
We're going to go see Wolf of Wall Street. I'm walking down to her place and going to the cinema from there. I have a lot of butterflies in my stomach already, so that's a good sign, right? I also trimmed my beard because she was joking that it was hard to find my lips on Monday.
Ada Loveteeth Update
So yeah. Last night.
We technically didn't make out, but there was a lot of kissing.
She was having a tough day and wanted a virtual hug and I asked if she was around later because I was available for a real life hug if she needed one. She was finishing up really late, so we met up at a pub near us.
I wasn't sure if this was a date or a friend meet up because she was having a tough day and I lived very close. I still ran a comb through my hair and changed out of my Spider-Man hoodie just in case she wanted to meet as more than friends.
The thing that was worrying her earlier didn't happen, so she was in a much better mood. We were having a great chat about Cloud Computing, Game of Thrones and Google Maps. With no table between us, it felt natural to touch her hand. My gamble paid off as she gently stroked my finger. So we ended up holding hands and it felt great. It felt very comfortable.
We finished our drinks and it was time to leave. I gave her a big hug which lasted for ages and then I kissed her. We both laughed at how it should it happened the other night when I tried to kiss her but a face full of hair got in the way,
We walked back to her place, kissed a few more times on the way and I dropped her off. I was just about to text her to say I got home safely when she texted me to say "You home yet?"
So I'm very excited about what's next.

This is so cute!
Thanks! I'd rather be cute than awkward, which is my main concern.
I was way happier than I should have been for that comedy show to be cancelled. It gave us a chance to have a long chat about feminism and other things, which was cool.
Date with Ada Loveteeth
Went well, I think?? It was a great evening, which was less painful than I thought it'd be. Mainly because the comedy show we were going to see got cancelled. I only wanted to go to meet the promoters as I'm performing at the venue soon (I'm waiting on a date). I thought it'd be good for them to put a face to that guy they've been talking to on Facebook. But it was billed as a night of Dark Comedy, which could have gone SUPER badly. It was cool of Ada to come with me, but I'm super happy we didn't have to sit through comedians being deliberately edgy to get laughs.
So just bar hopped on our way home (we live quite close to each other, so we walked from town). It was a lovely evening and she is great company. She completely changed career paths a few years ago and that's awesome to me.
I'm honestly very attracted to her, not sure how she feels about me. Maybe I'm too young for her? There was a super awkward moment as I went to kiss her but her face was full of hair. Stupid wind. So we hugged and I went home.
Not sure when we are seeing each other again? Soon, maybe??
While Roz Doyle did cancel today, I do have another date tonight...
... I think.
I met this woman, Ada Loveteeth, a few months ago. I'm calling her Ada Loveteeth because she is a software developer (Ada Lovelace is the founder of scientific computing), on our first meeting she said I have lovely teeth (seriously, the way to my heart is through telling me hair and/or teeth are great) and theladybrain told me I should.
ANYWAY. We met for coffee, had a good time, but she was moving house at the time, and was seeing someone else so I got lost in the shuffle. It happens. We've tried to connect over the last while, but we were either too busy or sick or both.
We're meeting tonight for a drink and off to a comedy show. We both have a safe word if it's too awful for us to bear. I feel I'll break before she will.
Drew Smith was a teacher in Canada who taught English, and kept relationship with students after they have left the class. One student, Soohee Jean, who knew Drew was also a very good musician, teamed up with him to create this beautifully animated music video for "Love Teeth". It's a good ol pop rendition of solitude and heartbreak. Good stuff all around. Drew is set to release his new record, The Secret Languages, in the next few months.
