☆: my muse comforting yours while they get a tattoo
Clementine smiled at Lovey as she made her way towards her. She wasn’t sure she was even going to show up. Lovey smiled brightly at her, ushering her over. “Travis, this is the friend I was talking about. The one who is about an HOUR late!” she scolded Clem, who shrugged. “I know. I uh...I got lost.” she lied, stepping closer. Travis didn’t look up from the tattoo he was lining.
“I’m glad you came.” she said, and Clem shot her a small smile back. “You uh..,You decided on a design huh?” Clem asked, taking a small glance at Lovey’s leg before looking back at the girl. “Yeah no thanks to you. Why are you so late anyway?” Lovey asked, and Clem flushed. “Lovey...This is hard for me.” she replied softly, before she felt Lovey take her hand. “And you think it isn’t for me?” she replied, and Clem looked at her feet. “I’m sorry. I’m trying.” she said softly, and Lovey squeezed her hand. “I know you are baby. I’m sorry too.”
Clem moved over, squeezing Lovey’s hand and kissing the top of her head. She could tell Lovey was holding back tears, and she didn’t know if it was from the pain of the tattoo, or the pain of what the tattoo was. “You got this.” she said and pulled Lovey’s hand to her mouth to kiss reassuringly. Lovey smiled, and Clem wiped her tears. The buzzing finally came to a stop, and as Lovey checked out her new ink, Clem swallowed thickly. She turned around, and looked at her tattoo. “It looks great.” Clem told Lovey. Lovey was gushing about the new tattoo on her leg, doing a twirl. She had Clem take at least a dozen photos of the tattoo in slightly different lighting before Travis cleared his throat, and the two girls stopped so he could wrap up Lovey’s leg.
“Your turn ya?” he asked Clem, and she swallowed, before nodding and taking a sit on his chair. Lovey smiled brightly at Clem as he put the stencil on her leg. “Now you check, ya.” Travis instructed. She stood up slowly before walking to the floor length mirror, checking it out.
It was an outline of a star, and Clem couldn’t help but tear up at what was written inside.
“Addison Caldwell. 97-20″
Lovey walked over to her, this time the shorter girl wiping her tears. “What do you think?” she asked in a soft voice.
