Horse back riding isn't a sport?
Just because it's different? Just because you don't understand it? Maybe you're right. Maybe it isn't. It's so, so much more than that. It is a source of happiness and relief, a place where people find their purpose, their life. It's a 24/7 competition with not only competitors, but yourself. It's about politics, looking pretty while kicking ass, staying humble while being a snob. Most of all, it's about trust. It's about love. It's about compassion. It's about understanding. Yea, you have team mates for your other sports teams, you have to learn to master ball handling, you have to run fast, find the right angle, have the proper enthusiasm and what not, but we - oh wait, the exact same thing? This IS a sport? Yes. It is. Our team mate is also our ball that we have to learn to handle without getting killed though. We have to sprint at incredible speeds, leap over things, make proper patterns, tight turns, and having the ability to get up off our ass when we get knocked down and try again. We're equestrians. This is OUR sport. Don't try and tell is what it is or isn't until you've tried it. Pussies.
