This weekend you and Louis decided to pay a visit to your family. It's been a while that you've seen them since moving in together. The drive was a bit longer than an hour, but you both made it without any damage aside from your eardrums ringing because Louis insisted on belting along to the songs on the radio. You parked in front of your childhood home and made your way out the car. You took the time to admire it while Louis grabbed your bags from the trunk. It was just as you'd remembered it, the white picket fence surrounding the small yard and your mum's spruced up garden from your memories; she even had the little figurine of the girl and boy sitting on a bench holding hands tucked safely in the clear patch of her garden. You missed this house and your family, sure, but you loved the new adventures you were embarking in with Louis. "The house looks so small now compared to when I was growing up" you spoke quietly. "In time, it seems that way love, but I'm sure the people in there haven't changed one bit" he says taking your hand lovingly with his free one. The two of you make your way to the front door and ring the bell. Small sounds of shuffling could be heard behind the door before it opened to reveal your mum. "My baby!" she gushed as her eyes lit up, pulling you into her arms. Her excitement attracted attention as you saw your dad, the twins, and your little sister coming out of the kitchen to see the commotion. Your mum had let you go to let you get acquainted with everyone else, she didn't hesitate to pull Louis into an equally tight hug, "Louis, sweetheart! You've gotten skinnier! Has my girl not been feeding you? We'll have to fix that!" she fretted. You hear him laugh jovially at your mum's animated words, "No, no ma'am! The exact opposite actually, I don't know how she keeps up with me." She lets him go at arms length, "What did I tell you about calling me ma'am? You know well that around here it'll always be mum." You vaguely hear them converse as you go up to your father with open arms, "Dad, I missed you so much." He returned the hug, much lighter than your mum's, "I missed you too pumpkin, still haven't grown an inch since we last saw you?" You both laugh letting each other go from the warm embrace. A chorus of squeals were let out before you felt three pairs of arms wrap around your middle, you looked to see that it was your 14 year old twin brothers and little 8 year old sister. You wrapped your arms as best as you could around them before kissing them individually on top of their heads. Louis had gotten out of your mum's gripped and had moved on to greeting your father. "How are you sir?" he asks shaking your father's hand. "Dad" your father simply replies with a smile, to which Louis happily returns. The arms around your waist were quick to disperse as your siblings moved to tackle Louis. He received the same treatment, but was not able to hold his balance and was knocked over. "Timberrr!" was called out before he fell to the floor in a heap with my siblings. You all laughed at the sight as he ruffled the boys' hairs and tickled your little sister's sides to emit a twinkling giggle. The kids got off him and you helped him up off the floor. "It's good to see the both of you" your mum speaks up, "Now go on upstairs and freshen up, you kids must be exhausted from the trip." You follow her orders knowing not evoke the wrath of a mother and make your way to your old room. You open the door to see that not much had changed, a few things missing that had made their way to the flat that you and Louis now share, but the light blue walls adorned with white fairy lights still stayed. "It seems like just yesterday I was bringing you up here to show you my room," you tell Louis. "And now look where we are," he replies taking your hand and kissing your knuckles, "I wouldn't change a thing." You smile at his actions and pull him further into the room. He drops your bags by the bed and wraps his arms around your waist. "Going downnn," he dramatically states pulling you with him onto the queen sized bed. You let out a small shriek and a giggle at his actions. He gives you a small kiss on the lips to try and silence you, but small pounding footsteps could be heard making their way to your room. You both pull apart upon the door creaking open to show the three familar head of your siblings with curious looks on their faces. "Well hello there my little minions," Louis voices, "Are you here to help me capture the princess into the pirate ship?" They all nod their heads with excited looks in their eyes as they ran for your bed, the three of them screamed, "Dog pile!" Their weight knocked the wind out of you and Louis as you laughed at the situation. Two pairs of feet could be heard making their way to your room only to show the worried faces of your parents. When they realized that you were in no eminent dangers, the looks on their faces turned into amused glances; your dad shaking his head and laughing at the sight. "Dinner will be done in a bit," your mum informs before you dad closes the door and they make their way back downstairs. There was a small silence between the five of you before you all broke out into laughs. "Alright, alright," you say after calming down, "Up and at 'em!" The three kids scramble off of you and Louis and make their way to the door. You get up after them, much to Louis's disappointment, "Come baaaack, the bed beckons you!" You laugh at his childishness, "I've got to go help mum with dinner. You keep yourself entertained." A pout made its way on to his lips as he crossed his arms over his chest, but he gets up from the bed and follows you downstairs to the kitchen. Louis made his way into the den where your dad and the kids were. "What are you making in here mum?" you ask. "Spaghetti with meatballs and some garlic bread," she replies, "Does that sound good?" You come up to her and hug her side as she continues with making dinner, "That sounds delicious." You kiss her cheek and let her go, "Would you like some help in here?" She was quiet for a bit before replying, "Would you keep an eye on the sauce while i get started on the garlic bread?" You nod your head in response as she moves from the stove to get started on the garlic bread. Laughs and shrieks made their way into the kitchen from your living room as you hear Louis scream, "PETER PAN!" You and your mother curiously glanced at each other before looking through the doorway to see Louis with a Peter Pan hat carrying your sister on his back and the boys after coming after them with plastic swords. Your father was on the couch with a plastic hook on his right hand laughing. You and your mother smile, making your way back into the kitchen to finish dinner. "He's an absolute doll," your mother says quietly, "He'll make a wonderful father one day." You smile at your mother's words, "Yeah, he will." Your mother's smile grows, "He loves you very much, you know. The way that he looks at you..." She trails off and continues with the garlic bread. "I know mum," you say, "People say I get the same look when I look at him." Her eyes soften when she turns to you, "You two were made for each other..." You look up and smile at her, "You think so mum?" She doesn't hesitate to answer, "I know so." You stop stirring the spoon and go up to your mother to give her a big hug. "Thank you," you quietly whisper in the hug. You both let go to hear silence aside from the television from the den. A look of confusion weaves through your features. "Go sweetheart," she shoo's you away, "I can take care of everything in here." A slight frown crosses your face, "Are you sure?" She smiles at you and says, "Positive. Now go on." You stare at her with doubt for a second before making your way to the doorway once more. The sight before you warms your heart, your father and Louis are now sat on the couch, your sister had found her way on to Louis's lap and cuddling into him fast asleep. Louis had a game console controller in his hand, as did the twins; they were playing Halo on Xbox as your dad watched in quiet observance. Your mother became curious as to why you haven't moved from your spot and looked around your shoulder. A smile graces her lips at the scene as she lays a hand in your shoulder lovingly, "He's certainly the one." You smile at her with tears springing from your eyes, she wipes them away with her hand before going back to the kitchen. You make your way to the couch that your dad and Louis were occupying and took the seat next to his. You leaned your head against his shoulder and he quietly whispered, "Hey babe," giving you a kiss on the head. His attention goes back to the game, the lot of you just watching the screen. Half an hour passed before your mother called you out into the kitchen to help set up the table. You get up from your seat and make your way back into the kitchen to lay out seven places. Your mother sets out the food and goes to the den to fetch everyone else. They all make their way into the dining room and take their seats, you and Louis sitting next to one another. The food was passed around and light conversation made its way into the dinner table. The kids laughed as Louis pulled funny faces from across the table, soon everyone joined in, but the laughter died down and everyone filtered in to their own discussion. You took the time to take Louis's free hand into yours. He turns to you with a small smile on his face, lightly squeezing your hand in his. The dinner table continues on with small chatter until you all finish up. Your dad and Louis volunteer to clean and wash up. Everyone else filed into the living room and occupying a seat. The T.V. was quietly playing a cartoon that the children chose, your mother had a book open in her hand curled up by the lamp. You chose to occupy the love seat, getting lost in your thoughts about you and Louis. Laughter could be heard from the kitchen, your father and Louis exchanging humorous banters with one another as they get things done. You return back to your thoughts and think of how you would love to start a family like this with Louis, come home to a quiet small home in the suburbs raising your children. You got so lost in your ideas that you didn't notice your dad and Louis finished up in the kitchen and Louis taking the seat next to you and wrapping his arm around your shoulder. You jump slightly at the contact. "Steady love," Louis laughs pulling you closer to him, "It's just me. Something on your mind? You seemed to be far off." You just smile and shake your head no, "Nothing, I'm just glad we decided to come visit." He kisses your temple, "I am too." You snuggle closer in to him and lean your head onto his shoulder listening to the steady him of the television going off. Before you know it, your eyes slowly drift close and you fall asleep. You were awoken by steady movement and strong arms holding you bridal style. You focused your eyes to see that you just reached the upstairs landing. "Well hey there sleeping beauty," the person carrying said, you turned to see Louis with a grin on his face, "Go back to sleep love, I've got you." You wrapped your arms around his neck, "It's ok, you can put me down babe," you reply. "No, no I like carrying you, just let me please?" he pleaded. "Ok fine" you say defeated. His grin widens at the satisfaction of winning and tightens his hold on you. You get to your bedroom door and he kicks it lightly to give way, with one hand he flicks the light switch on and the fairly lights began to glow. He makes his way to the bed and gently lays you down before going to the luggage and choosing a pajamas for the both of you. He handed you yours and made a beeline to your conjoining bathroom to change into his. You quickly changed into your sleeping clothes and folded your old ones, putting them on top of your bag to deal with in the morning. Louis came out of the bathroom in a white shirt and his boxers, quickly putting his folded clothes on top of yours and jumping on to the bed. A small squeal escaped your lips as he started tickling your sides, his throaty laugh soon following. You two got yourself situated on the bed, his arm wrapping around your shoulders as yours wraps around his middle and your head laying on top of his heart. It was quiet for a bit, you two just enjoying the comfortable silence before you spoke up, "I was thinking about us earlier." You turned to look up at him and he had a confused look on his face, "What about us?" You hummed and closed your eyes for a second before opening them up again, "I was thinking about how I want this - us - to have a family like this in a small suburban town, it might not be as quiet granted that you come from a huge boy band," you joked, "But I would love all the things that would come with it because I love you." You stared right into his eyes as you said those words. He was quiet for a moment before taking his free hand under your chin and pulling your face closer to his. He touched his lips to yours in a small intimate kiss; the feeling was magical. He was the first to pull away and looked into your eyes, "I can't wait for that day. I can't tell you when that will be or if it will be soon enough, but I promise that we will have that beautiful happily ever after one day." You hugged his middle closer, burying your head into the crook of his neck, "I love you" you said muffled. "I love you so much more darling," he says kissing the top of your head, "Now get some sleep, we've got a big day ahead for tomorrow." You scoot yourself lower to lay back on top of his chest again, slowly drifting to sleep to the feel of his even breathing.
