I made a pillowcase for BUCK’s birthday! The solid blue is raw silk and the cuff is a bit more of the batiky/blockprinty cotton I used in Theo’s birthday pillow last month. Both boys loved their low stakes stitching treasures!! I loved making them. Done! The Renegade Rebel Random Radical Juxtaposition Quilt is stitched and tied, and has a little pillow pal made from scraps. I did my first lapped zipper on the back of the pillow, hiding a surprise color flash. Such fun! It all started when Sam, @nightgownenthusiast taught me “no waste flying geese” pattern. After I had a dozen geese or so, all using random bits of fabric from her stash and mind, including lots of cotton I’d painted/printed, I said “let’s just put these all together and see what happens.” Lots of play and making of new geese later, we have a quilt (and pillow.) AND, we’re working on a sister quilt. It started out as a pillow but then just kept growing! They’ll all be for sale once the set is finished. We’re working on our Low Stakes Stitching website. Finished the pillow! Even sporting a zipper. My grandson loved it. Yay!! He’s a water baby, like most of us on this rock surrounded by gorgeous water. I painted the central squares. @nightgownenthusiast gave me the dark surrounding fabric.
