my partner, felicity, had a coworker, another ranger-human that she often worked with, that had a weavile as his partner pokemon.
that weavile was very nice. i think i had a crush on her? i can’t remember. but weavile are good ‘mon, even if we lucario are very different from them. lucario and weavile share natural habitat, and sometimes form little villages.
i didn’t live in one of those, but i heard of them.
as a lucario i was raised by my aunt, who was an arcanine. my parents, a lucario and an arcanine, were a rescue team in the remote mountains of sinnoh, so i didn’t see them much. my aunt was basically my mom and i loved her and out of respect i keep an arcanine on all my pokemon teams
"Nuzlocke" is a farce. It was very rare for Pokemon to die in battles or for trainers to conduct themselves in such a way that the rules of a Nuzlocke challenge dictate. I'm sorry, I just hate those kinds of playthroughs so much. It's an excuse for humans of this world to enact fictional violence on innocent animals for the sake of a challenge that's edgy. It's an excuse to pretend that humans of this world are the constant for any world with humans- constantly cruel, constantly demanding, constantly pushing past healthy limits. That's not the Émonnen I remember.
One of the simplest pleasures I had when I was a Lucario was showers and bathing. As a Ranger's partner, I got to do it relatively frequently; at most, every other week, and at least every month. Definitely before big events. My Ranger would help me sometimes, though I didn't really need it. But there's something very pleasant about being scrubbed down, your fur all wet, delicate hands massaging shampoo into the small of your back and other places you can't quite reach... Humans make it seem so sexual, when it was really just a nice bonding experience. Imagine going to a salon and having your hair washed, but that feeling is all over. So nice...
I get stronger kinfeels from being NiGHTS and being a lucario than I do from my other two lives?
Perhaps it’s because they’re my most recent and very first lives, respectively, so they’re firmly anchored in my soul.
Perhaps, at least with NiGHTS, it’s because we lived for such a long time- technically the entire span of humanity, for as long as humans have and will have dreamed, and that’s far longer than any of my other lives. Time’s nonlinear in Nightopia.
Perhaps it’s because, a least with lucario, it’s because I did so much and there’s so many things in this life- with Pokemon as a human media- that remind me of things from back then.
It’s just weird. I feel so much a stronger connection to those lives than to my demon or wolf lives, and it’s not like my ties to those lives are weak.
Societe De Aura was in part formed, as the story goes, because Sir Aaron had discovered a lucario raised by humans that didn't know how to use its innate aura abilities. Apparently this was a travesty to him, and he wanted all humans to have the opportunity to learn how to treat their aura-sensitive Pokemon correctly.

The queen at the time sponsored the Societe and over hundreds and hundreds of years it spread across Emonnen
Aaron was kind of a legend to us, which is why people dressed as him even in modern day- like Riley, who was head of the Sinnoh Societe De Aura chapter for a while
