Spreewald ~ Lübbenau, Germany This stunningly beautiful village by the river Spree is Germany’s 1 of 18 biosphere reserves. Lovely wooden houses adorn the river's shores with fairytale charm, and some are even available for rent. The people primarily get around by boat. The river being a UNESCO World Heritage site and protected habitat for around 6,000 flora and fauna, all boats used are operated solely by human power, so no pollutions are released into the river.

Funky Sculptures in Lubbenau, Spreewald, Germany. It seems to be the spiritual home of pickled gherkins, as far as I could tell on my visit. Undeniable pretty place!
