So much appreciation for the fact that after Sam kills Lilith, Ruby doesn’t try to kill or hurt Sam (even though she easily could since he’s physically weak and emotionally confused). Instead she really tries to convince Sam that what he did is a good thing. That setting Lucifer free is a miracle that he facilitated. She had no “use” for him anymore, but she caresses him and tells him “You saved us.”
She cradles his face and says “You were the only one who could do it.”
Of course, this is all very terrifying on Sam’s end, because she betrayed him and he learns that he’s set the devil free and thereby starting the apocalypse.
But on her end, I fully believe she is being serious when she tells him Lucifer is going to repay him. And when you erase that part of Ruby, that she believed in Sam for more than just his usefulness in freeing Lucifer, you completely skew the relationship Sam and Ruby had.
She also totally did not see him killing her coming, which is objectively stupid and only makes sense if she really considers them, in some profound way, on the same side.
