Ranking Exo title tracks
Because I miss these absolute mad lads. Please come back and resuscitate the music industry with some funky beats and pop bass lines.
Tempo - does this even need explaining? She’s the Queen. This is the song that made me stan Exo because I got into kpop a few months before KoKoBop dropped and I was so sick of that song after 9 months of hearing it on repeat. But TEMPO came back and REDEFINED the music industry. The acapella bridge *chef’s kiss*.
Growl - again, little explanation needed. It’s the kpop international anthem. Not as musically complex as Tempo but if it comes on you’d best bet I’ll be 으르렁-ing.
Call Me Baby - this is arguably the greatest pop song of the last 20 years. It just PERFECTLY represents what pop music should sound like and it never gets old.
Love Me Right - the BRASS the GUITAR the retro kind of 70s/big brass sounds. Superior. Also Baekhyun CONSTANTLY served in live stages this era.
Electric Kiss - I know this is a Japanese release but it’s SO GOOD. Also the choreography is incredible. The post-chorus + Chanyeol/Sehun’s rap is fire
Lucky One - criminally underrated. Super funky. Tue build-up of the rap bridge to the final chorus is great.
Overdose - also underrated? Overdose is So Good. I LOVE the claps/fingersnaps at the start. It’s like a darker version of Growl in my head. The starting choreo is crazy.
Power - to people who don’t like Power, do you also dislike fun? It’s so BOUNCY. The chorus is also so up-lifting. And the MV gave us Comedian!Exo. What more could you ask for?
Obsession - controversial to have it this low. It’s just cos i have to be in the * mood *. But it does slap.
Monster - Monster was iconic but in the light of Exo’s other title tracks it’s not as memorable. But we did get ChanBaek with black hair and Baekhyun in some intense black eyeliner thank you stylists.
Ko Ko Bop - again, controversial. It took me AGES to like this song because it was so over-played. it was only after i’d gone through all of Exo’s discography that I could appreciate this song
Lotto - relatively forgettable. I find the lyrics kind of cringey. Baek’s “lipstick chaeteau wine colour” and Chanyeol’s slick speak-rapping remain iconic tho.
Mama - again, this is one that I need to be in the * mood * for because it is experimental. It’s super cool tho. It just does my head in cos clearly i’m not big brain enough for it.
Love Shot - sorry friends Love Shot is just boring. Especially after Tempo?? Do better SM
Wolf - I just cannot get into this, no matter how hard I try. I appreciate the experimentation tho.
