Kid Gloves - Lucy Knisley uses her own personal life story as a way to examine the history of woman's health and how the subjugating of woman's rights led and the misconceptions and misinformation surrounding pregnancy that still exist today. This is by far more than an informative journey, as Kinsley opens her life up to demonstrate just how emotional things are and how unexpected life can progress. I learned a great deal to the point I wished I read this before my kids were born. However it does not matter if you have kids or have no interest why it works is her ability place you within each moment and deepen the understanding of where we are by going back to how we got to our current understanding and the issues that still need addressing. I have read a lot of graphic memoirs and what tends to separate to mundane from the great is having a strong voice and purpose behind the retelling of past events.
