As Hakuno alternated between watching the dance floor and watching people and sheep alike come and go, she saw many familiar faces. Several friends and acquaintances were at the ball, some alone, some with other friends of their own. As her eyes paced around the Starlight Garden, she noticed someone she didn’t expect to be there.
Was that Lui standing at the edge of the garden, just outside the festivities? She didn’t know if he had read the invitation and come on his own, or had merely noticed the commotion and come to investigate, his attire was similar to what she’d seen him wear when they met before.
She quickly scurried away from the dance floor and toward the boy, giving a gentle smile. “Lui? Are you here for the ball too?”
