Wow, what a weekend for Ferrari thus far. 🤩

1. Win for Richard Mille AF Corse with Luis Perez Companc, Lilou Wadoux (first woman to win in WEC!) and Alessio Rovera in LMGTE Am.

2. First F2 victory for Ollie Bearman.

3. Hypercar podium for car 51 - Pier Guidi, James Calado and Antônio Giovinazzi after so much drama.

4. All the Azerbaijan Poles for Charles Leclerc and P2 in the F1 sprint race.

¿Cuándo te diste cuenta que lo tuyo era ser piloto de Rally?

Luis Perez Companc conoció lo que era el amor por los autos por medio de su padre Goyo, dueño de una de las fortunas más abultadas del país  e incluso de la región. Por ello cuando decidió – en una edad mayor a la del promedio – dedicarse al automovilismo el tema del dinero no fue un aspecto que lo limitó.

El aspecto que sí constituyó un desafío a superar, más que las piedras del camino o el polvo de cualquier ruta sureña, fue la aprobación familiar. Es que su madre nunca estuvo a favor de la velocidad y menos cuando se enteró que uno de sus hijos quería perseguir ese sueño.

Sin embargo, el amor por los motores pudo más y así fue que Luis Perez Companc se metió de lleno en el deporte y la pasión por los autos, lo que lo llevó a recorrer terrenos muy lejanos al territorio nacional siempre enarbolando la bandera argentina en cada esquina que recorrió. Al respecto, Luis Perez Companc afirmó que al descubrir la adrenalina y “los desafíos que te presenta correr en esta clase de competencias”, lo invadieron ganas de dedicarse de lleno a algo que empezó como un sueño pero que hoy ya es una realidad que le ha dado tantas alegrías.

Luis Perez Companc inició su carrera deportiva como automovilista en 2001 en el Rally Argentino para luego desandar un camino lleno de éxitos en esta categoría que exige mucho y que existe gran competencia porque hay grandes pilotos destacados.

Luis Perez Companc | Después de mi primera carrera en el WRC

El después fue difícil, esa primera carrera en el Word Rally Championship para Luis Perez Companc fue compleja porque acomodarse al estilo y las exigencias de esta categoría de competición no es fácil. La mala experiencia para el piloto argentino casi lo lleva a desistir de participar en el WRC. A esto se refirió Luis Perez Companc al confiar al medio que “mi mala experiencia en esa primera carrera, a, raíz de eso decidí, en aquel momento, no correr más en el mundial”.

Sin embargo, Luis Perez Companc reconoció que después de un tiempo de meditarlo decidió no abandonar: “De todos modos quise, este año, estar en Nueva Zelanda porque todos hablan maravillas de esa carrera. Y estaré en la Argentina porque es el rally de mi país”.

Tanto en el Rally de Nueva Zelanda como en las pistas argentinas, Luis Perez Companc correrá con el Ford Focus del equipo oficial. Y a pesar del disgusto inicial en el WRC, el piloto argentino confesó que tiene energía para correr al menos dos años más pero en el campeonato de Rally de Argentina porque insume menor cantidad de tiempo y al decir de Perez Companc, podrá hacerlo de mejor manera y logrando una performance “con la que esté a gusto”.
