Send me a situation you want to see our muses in and I will write us a starter for it. (Still accepting)
@lunaesong sent my way: One Thousand and One Nights AU.
It was a music of its own.
It intertwined with the other melodies playing with harmonic majesty. The song of the everlasting. Voices that would never end. Burning blazes of gifted talent, prowess and power cheerfully murmuring in their forevermore.
Tristan did not often permit himself whole contentment with the state of his Strix. The absence of further ambition carried seeds of stagnation. But in moments such as this, with enough of them reunited, as he leisurely strolled their celebratory rapture, an inebriating feeling of unique accomplishment was easy to find.
The increasing mortal counterpoint that joined the symphony had no effect on his attention. One of them arriving with his own improvised, courteous offering of delicacies that soon extended throughout the celebration. The rhythm of mesmerized agreements or feeble, conquered protests. That was until....
"Stop."
The projection of his voice was calm, sharp and absolute in both execution and effect. Indeed, stopping one of his many talons just as she was descending in wicked bliss upon the neck of one of the newcomers. No more than a second away from reaching her skin.
Tristan turned to find Death, dressed in a gown of regal gold. Blonde hair hesitatingly retreating from the darker hair of her almost prey. In between the denied instincts of fangs and black veins humming her thirst for blood and confusion towards him that was commencing to hesitate the need to become fear.
"You have done nothing wrong." His voice gently reassured what was only mostly true. Lack of curiosity was a minor flaw, as far as he was concerned. "All the same, I will have to send you to win your next bite from someone else." He joined them pleasantly and excused her. A brief moment of further confusion and, in the end, an amused, sweet, obedient curtsy and retreat later, he was alone with the voice that took him away from the song.
"It must be one haunting, unforgettable tale." Tristan mused. His eyes finally focused on someone specific.
"I did not mishear your final plea, did I? I will tell you a story, you begged." Frozen, sapphire eyes examined the human girl without offering anything in return. In measuring curiosity.
"These are my people. Whatever they may need for their growth, advancement and satisfaction, is theirs. In shared correspondence, whatever is theirs, is mine.
I am willing to inherit the deal you offered to my Cassilda. If you truly have a story you are prepared to risk your survival for the night on." Somewhere near then, another mortal whimpered as fangs reached them. Somewhere in between surprise and pleasure.
Tristan offered a cold, subtle smirk.
"Unless you are opposed to the idea?"
