[ FLOWER ]: sender offers a flower to receiver.
he takes it without looking, gaze entirely focused on the task at-hand. now, aigis didn't exactly ask him to do this, but he's taken it upon himself as an important mission nonetheless. something about her just ignites his ( nonexistent, if you were to ask him ) protective older brother instincts, which just won't stand to let any not - younger - sibling figures go without wearing at least one flower crown in their lives. it's a quintessential not - younger - sibling experience.
all he needed was one last flower to complete the chain, so after weaving it with the others, shinjiro reaches out and plops it on her head. the flowers are mostly white and blue - not intentionally but because they're all he has - but, in fact, they suit them well.
“ there. now you're complete. ”
"I can't help but think that Junpei has some beautiful friends..." The words slip from Chidori's mouth before she has even half a thought to stop herself. The girl had only been discharged recently; her memories failed to return and she has no known living relatives. By the grace of the Kirijo family was she given the chance to study at Gekkoukan next year—
It's a shame, she thinks, that she didn't get to stay at the dorm before the third years graduated.
This get-together had been pulled together by Junpei himself. He'd wanted to introduce Chidori to everyone, of course, though she couldn't help but notice the tensions were high. One of their friends had passed away recently. With how the girl knows that her own recover is nothing short of a miracle, there's guilt in her heart; there's a feeling that she doesn't deserve this. There's no part of her that can pinpoint why, yet the sadness in the room...
Most everyone had decided to go for a walk, leaving the red-haired girl alone with the blonde girl. Chidori can't help finding her features inhumanly pretty and it's that point where she spoke up, only to realize what she'd said and place a delicate hand over her mouth. How embarrassing. They'd only met tonight! How soon is it too soon to compliment company? She hasn't exactly been social lately.
And why, why did Junpei leave her alone like this?
"Um..." Fingers curl inwards as they relax, Chidori trying her best to smile at her. "I'm sorry, that's... an odd thing to say, isn't it?"
What was her name again? Oh, that's it—
"I was just surprised, is all, Aigis-san." How do you spell her name? She can't help but wonder. "All these lovely people, and yet..." He says he likes me.
"Do... you have anyone special?"

and it feels a little cold but still warm --- ( did she know that ? that it was still warm ? ) the heat dispersing itself into his cheeks , his heart ; a drop of red-into-water gently stirred pink . he's not sure what to say at first , not that he ever really seemed to know ; isn't sure whether or not she's pat him because he seemed cute or pitiful or maybe both , not being sure of even his own feelings in the moment and whether he should have felt belittled , already acutely aware of his usual smallness , or simply grateful that someone had been willing to go so far as to touch him when only his mother ever seemed to be eager to affectionately embrace what was hers .
should he have offered something in return ... ? but that was sort of lame , wasn't it ? his hands start to lift and they instinctively begin to fumble with a series of invisible locks and puzzles . he keeps his eyes set into the empty , invisible space between them , trying to sort out thoughts like the innerworkings of a clock . finally , he musters up something . ' um ... t-thank you . ' ( --- people did say thank you after being pat on the head ? right ? )

lunaete asked: [ TXT ] : you don't have to ask, i'm already on my way.
[Minato exhaled a laugh; he should have expected an answer like that. He closed his phone and tucked it into his pocket, brought back to the crisis at hand...]
[The Screenshot theater's poster for a "couple's discount" stared back at him, daunting as ever...but now he had his plus-one. The two of them already passed as a couple purely because of how attached Aigis was to him, and she wasn't likely to judge him over today's showing. Minato wasn't normally one to watch romantic tragedies in his free time, but this one seemed like it'd boost his charm, courage, and intelligence. That was too good to pass up.]
[It only hit him after he put his phone away that this movie might...make this excursion a bit awkward. He'd completely forgotten that the movie's leads were a human and an artificial intelligence.]
[He hurriedly removed his phone from his pocket to check how much time had passed since he'd texted her, but it was too late to stop her. Knowing Aigis, she'd be here any second. Resigning to his fate, he messaged her again.]
[ TXT ] : See you soon.
[...This movie might wind up raising his courage more than he thought.]
TIME LOOP SENTENCE STARTERS || ALWAYS ACCEPTING! || @lunaete
lunaete asked: ❝ Just remember, we had a wonderful day together once. ❞
[Minato laughed softly, his hand weakly clinging to Aigis'. This was just one of many, many wonderful days he'd shared with her...and he was confident that there would be countless more, despite his current state.]
❝ ...Every day with you is wonderful, Aigis. ❞ [As tedious ( and painful ) as these loops were, at least he was spending these days with those he loved. Even if he had to die in their arms every now and again...even if he had to hear their anguished cries over and over...he knew with unwavering certainty that he'd return to a time when they were none the wiser. Nobody would remember the tragedy...and if he did things correctly next time, then nobody would have to experience any tragedy. That was the point, right...? His powers were pointless if he couldn't somehow fix the past.]
[He coughed, tasting the tell-tale metallic flavor of blood. His time was probably running out. He smiled peacefully and shakily reached his hand up to Aigis' cheek, struggling to wipe away her tears.]
❝ Don't...cry. ❞ [Minato stifled another series of coughs, yet he remained content. It was an odd sentiment to have...but he always felt more comfortable when Aigis was the one holding him as he died. It hurt to hear her weep...but knowing that she'd be alright once he came back kept him going. She wouldn't have to feel this way for much longer.] ❝ It'll be okay...I promise. ❞
@lunaete ❤'d!
❝ Life's a song you don't get to rehearse, and every single verse could make it so much worse. Still, my friends don't know why I ignore the million things or more I should be dancing for... ❞
