Grief is something you cannot explain adequately. An unrelenting pressure gripped around your soul. So intense in moments that it is hard to breath. It makes me want to move and do to get away from it. But there is no escape. Only time.

For many of you, this means nothing, but to me it is so powerful. Back in photography class in college, I loved reaching in my bag for a new roll of film. It meant I could create anything!
This Monday we kinda get to do just that! Have a safe & happy holiday weekend everyone!
We all break from time to time. That isn't failure. That is shifting, learning, growing. Now go glow!
When I turned 40 I decided I was no longer going to be afraid to try new things. And wow! The world has opened up to me in incredible ways. Like today...I head off on my first overnight backpacking trip! I'm so excited!!
My daily routines are the single most important factor in what actually gets accomplished every day. Without them I feel lost and uninspired. For me, I know that skipping them leads to serious depression, which I have suffered from in the past and I don't ever want to go back there again. Recently I stopped doing all of my usual things for a little while. It truly was only about two weeks and at the end of it all, I just wanted to curl up in a ball and cry myself to sleep. I thought I was giving myself a break, but the result was letting myself slip out of good habits I had built over the years and back into bad habits that don't serve me. Your daily routine doesn't have to be this long, drawn out, hours long process. It doesn't need to include cold showers or getting up at 5am. What it does require is that it allows you the opportunity to get your mind and body right and primed for the day ahead. Whatever that looks like for you!
Most of us spend our entire lives hiding behind social norms and the expectations of others. They need to be understood by those in their circle. And when they aren't, they return to conformity because that is easier. It is devastatingly sad to watch someone you love struggle through that if you are one who has pushed outside of that bubble. And if you are still there, it seems absolutely insane that some people don't care what others think of them. Like freedom, authenticity comes with its own struggle and pain. For some, the reward simply isn't worth it. If only they truly knew. But that is the crux of it all, isn't it?
Sometimes the day requires two coffees. Today is that day! I would say TGIF, but I'm a Realtor so that seems to be irrelevant. Two coffees it is. Maybe three. We'll just have to see how this day goes. Happy Friday Friends!
