My dad still turns the Christmas lights on
In October of 2024, my mom was admitted to the hospital due to severe abdominal pains. She stayed a week, and I stayed with her. She was diagnosed, and advised she get surgery. It was scheduled for January of the following year.
Her surgery went well, we stayed there for six days. She's currently recovering well, and as of today, no complications from the surgery.
My dad put the lights up in November. Back in April, I asked him if he wanted help taking them down. He said he wasn't gonna take them down. I asked why, bc it's nearing summer. His reasoning was that he knows my mom loves them. He said that the day of my mom's surgery, he told himself he would always keep them on if the surgery went well.
It's now mid-July, and he still turns them on every night.
