LUPE’S TACO SHOP
10AUG16 Linda Vista 8.99 USD - TGunz Burrito 11"
Tortilla
The very existence of this burrito is a violent testament to the arrogance of Man. It is a California Burrito wrapped in a quesadilla stuffed with beef taquitos. These three+ pounds of savage mass are our modern-day Babel.
Meat
Very good; was Incepted as the shredded beef was inside a fried taquito surrounded by carne asada.
Ingredients
Fries, cheese, pico de gallo, guac, sourcream, fucking taquitos, liquid hate, more cheese, pure degeneracy, the souls of all those wrongfully condemned crying out in plaintive desperation. Guac was thankfully not runny at all and held together against all the fries and cheese. The combined fries and rolled taquitos provided two different kinds of internal crunch.
Salsa
Red, green, and orange, but even the strongest salsa would only be a lone Spartan against the Persian onslaught that was the TGunz.
Other
Previous discussion here. However, that earlier review didn’t mention that in the back of the shop a hole has been ripped to the Upside-down from which the faceless demogorgon is summoned to make every TGunz burrito. I asked the provenance of the unusual name and recieved no definitive answer. The walls have heard hushed whispers and low murmurs, but apparently these are not matters to be discussed openly.
Pairs with:
Jarritos Mandarin.
Overall Score
10. Lupe’s is probably the only place to find such a meal outside of fevered nightmares of the criminally insane.

LUPE'S TACO SHOP
09APR15 Linda Vista 6.25 USD 7.5”
Tortilla
Felt looser than it was due to the guac inside, but the fries kept it's shape. Not very think or cooked but tasty and easy to hold.
Meat
Brazed and blackened but still juicy. Made up about half of the burrito and worked well with the sourcream.
Ingredients
Fries, cheese, guac, sourcream, and pico de gallo. The fries were very crispy and the despite being a rather stout burrito, the sourcream and guac didn't make anything difficult to stay together. The shredded mixed jack cheese stood out even with all the others flavors, but the pico, not so much.
Salsa
At least four colors, but nothing notable in any of them. A testament to the burrito as a whole that nothing was really missed.
Other
Some fucking philistine had the gall to come in here to eat her flatbread sandwich from the Subway next door; like spending a day in the Louvre reading US Weekly. Other than that, the whole place is much cleaner and seemingly commercialized than any place that would produce a burrito this good. They sell their own t-shirts with their Sombrero'd Chilihead holding a taco and they've chosen beer-logo etched mirrors as the best decorations to line their walls.
Pairs with:
Jarritos Mandarin.
Overall Score
8.5. Not only the best option around, they also cater and are on Gubhub
Lupe's #2 - Beef Combo Red ($4.90)
Lupe's #2 has 12 different burritos on its menu but I had never swayed from my usual order of one bean and cheese green and one bean and cheese red. This time I tried the beef combo red burrito. It's a very good burrito with juicy shredded beef, flavorful refried beans, and a spicy hot sauce. My only criticism is a minor one. I would have liked a little less meat and a little more beans.
You probably can't go wrong with any of the burritos at Lupe's #2 so next time I may try the very popular chicharron with hot.
