yay im happy about the kid, skeptical about the Director position. it just doesnt seem like a role alex would take w/o extenuating circumstances. an alex danvers that doesnt want to be on the front lines and be able to fight side by side with kara... for the character theyve built up it seems ooc. i feel like theyve given her a midlife crisis this whole season.

Farscape

The first character I first fell in love with: Chiana. The very first episode I ever saw was “Durka Returns” after band practice one day and she had the most striking character design. (AGAIN, SIGNS I SHOULD HAVE PICKED UP ON WAY EARLIER.)

The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Rygel. I mean, he’s a frog puppet. But one with such nuance!

The character everyone else loves that I don’t: Zhaan. Maybe it’s because of a bad experience with Virginia Hey at Aggiecon that one time? But I’m very meh on her.

The character I love that everyone else hates: Do people hate Sikozu? I like Sikozu.

The character I used to love but don’t any longer: Zhaan.

The character I would totally smooch: Aeryn and/or Crichton.

The character I’d want to be like: Aeryn. Not because she’s badass physically, though that’s part of it. But because she shows tremendous emotional strength, empathy, and the ability to grow beyond what she was told she could be.

The character I’d slap: Stark. He was always pretty annoying.

A pairing that I love: John/Aeryn 5eva.

A pairing that I despise: Remember when they made Chiana cheat on D’argo with Jothee? That was awful. I hated that.

Yeah for sure (though, ngl, with how they’ve handled any of Maggie’s story… not holding my breath on them properly filling it out). It’s just interesting to me that a two second Google search shows that both Maggie’s full name and her father’s last name match the actual actor’s ancestries so like… sure, they could go the Latina route. But they also might not? Unfortunately everyone’s just going to blame Floriana for something out of her control.

Interesting. I’m still curious if they’ll finally explain “Sawyer” since her father’s last name is being credited as Rodas.

It’s always fascinating to me to see how fandom interprets that stuff, esp. since fandom skews young, because like ... let’s take Valentine’s Day. As someone who also suffered a traumatic experience related to my sexual identity on that holiday as a teenager, I felt like how they wrote Maggie in that storyline as wanting to reclaim the day for herself and overwrite her bad memories after having years of distance from the actual trauma was pretty damn realistic. And that attitude’s been consistently in the subtext of how she wants the wedding to go, too -- she wants the giant gay-ass party as a “fuck you” to all the ghosts in her head.

Anyway, I'm about 95% sure I’m not going to agree with fandom’s take on this storyline. I’ve had a sibling, a girlfriend, and my own kid all go through years of issues with estranged/abusive parents, all to different outcomes, and it’s wrong to insist there’s only one respectful way to tell that story.

eh, not really. people surprise me a lot and i don’t think i’m clever enough to trick myself that often.

like maaaaaybe a 2. more like a 1 and a half. like. if there are noises and i cannot see/find/intuit the source i’d get a little nervous, but i like the dark pretty well.

i… have no opinion on this. but probably not a maple, because according to scully/jake peralta guys think maples are hot and i don’t want to be hot to guys.\
