Don't you think it would be tasteless and awful to kill Melissa after Posey's mom died not so long ago? I mean, ok it's a tv show, but still it would be ugly for me, and cruel, mostly because I don't see how it would fit in the story they're telling us ( I would have get it at the end of 3a, when parents are taken by Jennifer)-

I don't think they would kill melissa simply because posey's mom died in real life very recently and that might be hitting a bit too close to home for posey
I get why you’re both asking this, I really do. And if Scott’s mom was suffering from cancer and they’d make him weep at her bedside I would totally agree. That would be cruel. If Melissa is the one to die (if anyone is dying at all) in the next episode, it will be vastly different, but I agree the emotions you’d need to access are the same. If this is something they’re planning I’m sure Jeff and the writers have talked to Posey about it and made sure it’s something he’s alright to do. He’s a producer now, so even if he’s not exactly involved in the writing, he’s involved in the production side. And for all I know Melissa will come out of this without a scratch.
I don’t really agree that it doesn’t fit the story they’re telling us. To me it would fit just fine, since they’re showing us Scott’s fall. If he loses his mom and his pack is also losing faith in him he really will be hitting rock bottom, and that is the place most “heroes” need to get to before picking themselves up.
But at the end of the day I have no clue if anyone is dying at all, and my speculations are as always based on the canon show and not on the actors’ personal lives. And if this was they way they’re planning on going and Posey was uncomfortable with it, I’m sure Jeff would work around it. He’s willing to let actors go when they want to, he listened to Dylan when he was uncomfortable with full on sex scenes in a mental institution to name a few.
