Sav had bolted out of the dinner almost as soon as the words had stopped echoing through her head, her face almost deathly pale as she had refused to look at her family, knowing what anger-filled expression was probably on her father’s face, the horror on her mother’s, the pity’s on Sierra and contempt on Sedona’s. Instead, she had focused on the table, the rushing filling her ears blocking out the noise of whatever was going on in the room - she didn’t know if silence or whispers would be worse. But she had to get out, regardless of how it looked. She was planning to go back to her room, even though she didn’t know when the last time she had slept there was, considering she stayed with Marcello constantly, but she couldn’t go back to his now - couldn’t imagine dumping this mood on someone else and forcing them to deal with it.
Sav had only made it halfway when her tears blurred her vision too much, leaning against a nearby wall and sinking down, teetering on her heels as she curled into her knees. A heavy, shaky breath left her lips, Sav almost whimpering as she covered her face. She had left her jacket at the table, her bare shoulders covered in goose bumps, which at least made it easier to blame the trembling on the cold. She was desperately trying to keep herself together when she heard footsteps, Sav pushing herself to her feet immediately, the last thing she needed was someone catching her like this. “I’m fine. I said not to follow me,” she snapped, sure it was one of her family members, her teary expression turning to shock when she realized it wasn’t, her hands covering her face again as she took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. “Sorry. Sorry. I thought you were...someone else.”
