"Back straight!" Nerë Anhyo hissed at him, and Aradir winced and did as he was told. This was his first time to be sitting in on a Royal Council, and he was suitably nervous. As the massive doors opened, he teetered in after his mentor and bowed. Not low, though; he had learnt that respect was something to be earned. Royal family or not, he didn't care.
"Good morning, my lord, my lady," Nerë Anhyo did the talking, which was a good thing, "Aradir, sit here," He gestured to a seat next to him on the large oval table. The king, Aeth Elethorn, sat at the head, with his daughter at his right and his other advisers on his left. Nerë Anhyo, as the main military adviser, was two seats away, and Aradir sat on his right, almost directly opposite the princess.
He kept his head down at first, as everyone else got settled. He was nothing more than a weapon to them- why else had they given him all this magic and then told him to go and destroy? Perhaps being here was just to make a mockery of him? Surely Demigir was much more suited-
"This session is opened," A scribe, sitting at the other end of the table, prepared to write, her sleeves rolled well back and the inkwell fixed to the table to avoid spillages. Taking a deep breath, the youngest Vierr at the table sat up straight and prepared to listen.
