from my vaguely d&d inspired au, where chris, a paladin of the bsaa, goes rogue after the god the bsaa follows fractures, splitting into two different halves, due to the corruption of the leadership. leon, who became a warlock due to his exposure to extraplanar entities, finds him after leon fakes his death to escape the dso's control. they don't trust each other at first, but they have a common goal that ties them together
